Full-Time Cardiologist Physician with Specialty Services at Our Organization

Our organization, in partnership with the Division of Cardiology at a prestigious medical school, is on the lookout for an academic cardiologist with a focus on cardiovascular imaging. The preferred candidate will possess advanced skills in imaging techniques such as echocardiography and cardiac MRI. This role offers a chance to thrive in patient care, education, and research while being part of a dynamic academic setting. Candidates may be eligible for an academic title at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor based on their experience.

Position Details:

  • Full-time, permanent role. Work hours will be discussed during the interview.
  • A recruitment or relocation incentive may be offered to exceptionally qualified individuals.
  • CME reimbursement available up to $1,100 annually.
  • Attractive salary, annual performance bonuses, and regular salary increments.
  • Generous paid time off ranging from 50 to 55 days each year.
  • Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This program offers reimbursement for student loans. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria as per VHA policy and submit their application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amounts (up to $200,000), and eligibility duration (one to five years) will be determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after a thorough review of the application.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert care in cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography and cardiac MRI.
  • Engage in clinical responsibilities for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Conduct significant research and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Seek funding opportunities to support research initiatives.
  • Educate and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees.
  • Design and implement educational programs, such as lectures and workshops.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and other educational projects.
  • Participate in strategic planning and interdisciplinary committees to improve clinical and research functions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven excellence in clinical practice with significant expertise in imaging.
  • A strong passion for teaching and mentoring across all educational levels.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen (non-citizens may be considered if qualified citizens cannot be recruited).
  • M.D. or D.O. degree required.
  • Board certification in Cardiology is necessary.
  • Must hold a full, active, and unrestricted medical license in any state.
  • Completion of a residency in an accredited core specialty training program, qualifying for board certification.
