Salary Information: The starting base salary is set at $176,329, with additional clinical supplements available.

Job Summary:
To excel in this role, candidates must possess specialty expertise, including current certification in dermatology from the American Board of Dermatology, valid medical licensure, and an appropriate medical staff appointment. Ongoing clinical engagement is also required.
The program director serves as a role model for both faculty and residents, engaging in clinical activities that align with the specialty. This involvement allows the director to exemplify the Core Competencies for faculty and residents alike.
Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence in dermatology, evidenced by publications, educational program development, or research activities, along with a minimum of three years of documented educational and/or administrative experience, or qualifications deemed acceptable by the Review Committee.
Responsibilities of the Program Director:
Oversee the administration and operations of the residency program, including teaching, scholarly activities, resident recruitment, evaluation, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
Act as a professional role model for residents.
Lead the program while embodying the values of compassion, integrity, and respect, creating an environment conducive to respectful dialogue and continuous educational improvement.
Design and implement the program in alignment with community health needs and the missions of both the Sponsoring Institution and the program.
Ensure a learning environment that supports the education of residents across all ACGME Competency domains.
Form a leadership team to assist in achieving program objectives, delegating authority while maintaining accountability.
Establish and manage a process for evaluating candidates for faculty positions within the residency program, with annual reviews thereafter.
Hold the authority to approve or remove faculty members from the residency program and to manage residents' interactions in learning environments that meet program standards.
Ensure that all educators effectively model the Core Competencies, with the privilege of working with residents contingent upon meeting educational standards.
Control the selection of faculty involved in resident education, ensuring alignment with program goals.
Submit accurate and complete information as required by the DIO, GMEC, and ACGME.
Provide interview candidates with relevant information regarding their eligibility for specialty board examinations.
Create a safe environment for residents to express concerns and provide feedback confidentially, free from intimidation or retaliation, while ensuring compliance with institutional policies regarding grievances and due process.
Adhere to institutional policies and procedures regarding resident suspension, dismissal, promotion, or appointment renewal.
Recognize that the residency program operates under the auspices of the Sponsoring Institution, ensuring adherence to its policies and procedures by all program leadership, faculty, support staff, and residents.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies on employment and non-discrimination.
Residents should not be required to sign non-competition agreements or restrictive covenants.
