As part of our esteemed healthcare organization, the Hematology/Oncology Physician will play a crucial role in delivering thorough evaluations, diagnoses, consultations, medical management, and treatment for individuals with hematologic and oncologic disorders. This role also encompasses the management of general medical issues that arise while caring for this patient demographic. Candidates who have successfully completed an accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology and possess board certification or eligibility in this specialty are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessing, diagnosing, consulting, and managing patients with hematology/oncology conditions, including related general medical issues.
- Admitting patients to inpatient services or the appropriate care level.
- Conducting comprehensive history and physical examinations.
- Ordering and providing initial interpretations of EKGs, imaging studies, and lab tests.
- Performing palliative care consultations.
- Selecting, initiating, and administering chemotherapy through various therapeutic routes for cancer treatment.
- Evaluating tumor imaging using CT, MRI, PET, and nuclear imaging techniques.
- Conducting serial assessments of tumor mass.
- Performing bone marrow aspiration and biopsy procedures.
- Ordering therapeutic phlebotomy when necessary.
Full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
