Emergency Medicine Physician
Job Description
Our organization is in search of a dedicated full-time physician to provide care for Veteran patients at our facility. The selected candidate will be tasked with delivering emergency medical services and stabilization for Veterans, while also offering direct patient care and clinical support to mid-level providers in the Emergency Department. Furthermore, the emergency provider will engage in collaborative team efforts to enhance interdepartmental cooperation, ensuring that the quality of patient care is either maintained or improved.
The key responsibilities of this role encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
Oversee all facets of medical care, assisting residents and/or mid-level practitioners in evaluating and treating patients in the Emergency Department.
Conduct patient evaluations to monitor changes in both physical and mental health status.
Coordinate with providers within their own service line as well as those from other service lines, and collaborate with other VHA facilities or community providers as dictated by the veteran's care plan.
Perform consultations within their own and other service lines as necessary.
Ensure the delivery of clinical care, contribute to graduate medical education, and engage in scientific research as appropriate.
While on-call hours are infrequent, staff in the Emergency Department must be prepared for emergency interventions when required.
