The selected individual will be responsible for conducting biopsychosocial evaluations, creating customized treatment strategies, and delivering a comprehensive array of evidence-based therapeutic interventions aimed at helping patients manage pain and stress, ultimately enhancing their quality of life.
A successful applicant will showcase a solid foundation in the following areas:
Core principles and methodologies of health psychology and pain psychology.
Thorough biopsychosocial evaluations of headaches and associated psychological conditions.
Evidence-based therapeutic techniques (such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness practices) to decrease headache frequency, alleviate pain and its effects, improve functionality, and boost quality of life.
Biofeedback and/or neurofeedback therapies for headache management.
Evidence-based approaches for psychological conditions that may accompany headaches (including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, and bipolar disorder).
Collaboration and teamwork across various professional disciplines.

Additional Information
Applicants should possess a strong foundation in clinical health psychology and integrated care for medically compromised populations. A doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program, completion of an APA-accredited internship, and a minimum of one year of supervised postdoctoral training are required. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in Georgia. Board certification from the American Board of Professional Psychology is expected within seven years of commencing this faculty role.
