Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Inpatient
Location: Hagerstown, MD
Compensation Package
Base salary of $335,000
Sign-on bonus of $250,000
Relocation assistance up to $50,000
Work schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (10-hour shifts)
Focus exclusively on inpatient care—no outpatient clinic duties
Manageable patient load of approximately 16 individuals
Opportunities to teach psychiatry residents, medical students, and programs for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants

Practice Overview
Inpatient program with 38 beds for children and adolescents (average occupancy around 32)
Serves patients aged 8 to 17
Typical length of stay ranges from 8 to 10 days
Common conditions treated include ADHD, depressive disorders, trauma, autism spectrum disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, and adolescent substance use
Admissions primarily sourced from local emergency departments
Collaborative Care Team
Join a dedicated multidisciplinary behavioral health team, which includes:
Nurses and Mental Health Associates
Social Workers and Counselors
Psychologists
Discharge Planning Team
Medical Consultation Services
All team members are trained in CPI de-escalation techniques and safety protocols, supported by security measures to ensure a secure care environment.
On-Call Schedule
One night per week
One in six weekends
Daytime on-call coverage for emergency department referrals and urgent inpatient needs
