Job Description
Our organization is currently seeking a Full-Time Palliative Associate Medical Director for Palliative Care Services, based in Johnson City, New York. We welcome applications from both seasoned professionals and recent graduates.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate a solid understanding of palliative care clinical models, including aspects such as design, business modeling, productivity, quality, experience, and equity.
- Preferred experience in developing or expanding new programs.
- Engage in clinical teaching and mentorship within a collaborative team of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, and an Administrative Director.
- Foster collaborative relationships with various hospital departments to enhance primary palliative care delivery.
- Work a Monday to Friday schedule.
- Contribute to the growth of the outpatient program while conducting evaluations and treatments, which include performing physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and assessing patients' clinical needs.
- Document findings and develop treatment plans based on patient conditions.
- Provide consultations for the inpatient consult service and participate in goals of care meetings with the Palliative Medicine Team.
- Participate in rounding on inpatients under the consultation service.
- Act as a clinical educator for medical students, Internal Medicine Residents, Family Medicine Residents, and Geriatric Medicine Fellows rotating through our service.
- Engage in clinical research activities as directed by the Medical Director of the Service.
- Join the UHS Ethics Committee and perform additional clinical duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
- Board certified or eligible in Palliative Medicine, along with a relevant medical specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine).
- Ability to maintain licensure in New York State.
