Our organization is currently in search of a board-certified or board-eligible Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join the Queens Cancer Center. This role will focus on leading services related to benign hematology and sickle cell disease. The Queens Cancer Center of Excellence stands as the sole established cancer center within the NYC Health+Hospitals System, presenting a remarkable opportunity to engage in a mission-driven, high-acuity setting alongside a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will become part of a skilled and collegial group of medical oncologists and hematologists, along with advanced practice providers, nurses, nutritionists, and social workers. Our hematology service boasts a strong team that includes an advanced practice provider, a social worker, a community health liaison, and a program manager, all dedicated to delivering comprehensive, integrated care to a diverse patient population.

Faculty members hold academic positions at the Icahn School of Medicine, offering opportunities for both teaching and research.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care in medical oncology and hematology, encompassing evaluation, treatment planning, and follow-up.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based, patient-centered cancer care.

  • Actively participate in weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards and cancer committee meetings.

  • Contribute to quality improvement and program development initiatives within the Cancer Center.

  • Engage in teaching residents and medical students through training programs affiliated with Mount Sinai.

  • Exhibit a strong commitment to clinical excellence, professional growth, and patient advocacy.

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO degree with completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology.

  • Board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology and Hematology.

  • Eligible for or currently possessing an active New York State Medical License.

  • Experience in either an academic or community-based oncology program is preferred.

  • Commitment to serving a diverse patient population with compassion and equity.
