Our organization is currently looking for a Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist to become a part of our Cardiac Anesthesiology team within the Division of Anesthesiology. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic department that includes over 170 professionals, such as anesthesiologists, critical care specialists, CRNAs, AAs, anesthesia residents, and advanced practice providers across our network.
Position OverviewThis is a full-time role in the CVOR, involving procedures like heart and liver transplants, mechanical circulatory support placements (including LVADs), aortic reconstructions, TAVR, structural heart interventions, CABG, valve surgeries, esophageal operations, complex thoracic surgeries, and major vascular cases.
Our cardiology and heart surgery program at the Mid America Heart Institute (MAHI) is recognized as one of the leading programs nationwide, conducting over 1,600 cardiothoracic, vascular, and hybrid procedures annually.
Faculty members focus solely on clinical activities within the CVOR at MAHI, which operates as a standalone clinical center within our hospital.
Opportunities for research collaboration with the Outcomes/Research Division of MAHI are available for those interested.
Our anesthesia residency program trains 8 residents each year, with senior residents gaining experience in CV surgery.

Qualifications include recent experience in cardiac anesthesia and either current enrollment in or completion of a cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship program; candidates must be TEE board eligible or certified.
