Opportunity Highlights
The Medical Director will be responsible for providing strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for the Interventional Radiology program across both inpatient and outpatient environments. This role involves close collaboration with hospital administration, radiology leadership, vascular surgery, oncology, hepatology, nephrology, trauma, emergency medicine, and surgical services to develop a comprehensive IR service line that meets the evolving needs of the community.
Our Interventional Radiology program is backed by skilled technologists, dedicated nursing staff, advanced imaging technologies, and a collaborative procedural atmosphere that is continually growing in both complexity and volume. The program conducts a wide array of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and is well-positioned for ongoing expansion in oncology interventions, vascular disease management, image-guided procedures, and outpatient procedural care.
The incoming leader will have the chance to:
Guide the ongoing growth and strategic vision of the Interventional Radiology program
Recruit, mentor, and cultivate additional IR physicians and advanced practice providers
Broaden clinical partnerships across oncology, vascular, hepatobiliary, and surgical specialties
Enhance quality, safety, operational efficiency, and patient experience initiatives
Engage in program development, innovation, and opportunities for procedural expansion
Establish relationships with referring physicians and community providers throughout Northern Virginia
Maintain an active clinical practice that balances procedural and leadership duties
Candidate Qualifications
Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology with fellowship training in Interventional Radiology
Board Certified/Eligible in Interventional Radiology/Diagnostic Radiology (IR/DR)
Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Preferred experience in a leadership role within a hospital-based or academic IR practice
Strong enthusiasm for program development, physician engagement, and multidisciplinary collaboration
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities
