The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at our organization, comprised of a dedicated team of 10 seasoned pathologists, is seeking a full-time staff pathologist. Candidates should be Board Certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, as well as Cytopathology. Outpatient phlebotomy locations are situated in West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Brockton, and Bedford, MA.
The selected pathologist will be responsible for providing Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology services, conducting case reviews, attending principal tumor boards, and engaging in teaching, research, and clinical activities in collaboration with our academic partners, including Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston University School of Medicine, and Harvard Medical School. There is potential for an academic appointment at one of these institutions based on experience.
Our service conducts over 3,000,000 tests annually and holds accreditation from the College of American Pathologists, the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Anatomic Pathology Division processes around 10,000 surgical pathology specimens and 7,000 cytology specimens each year. Additionally, we offer specialized reference laboratory tests to seven other locations within New England's Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 1), which includes Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, and Hematopathology. Our service also provides Quality Management, Informatics, and Telepathology support for the entire VISN 1 laboratory network.
Applicants must hold a full, active, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory. U.S. Citizenship is a requirement.
