Pediatric Hospitalist
Job Description
Position Overview
Job Posting: Pediatric Hospitalist - Main Campus and Community Locations:
Our organization, along with the Division of Hospital Medicine, is on the lookout for pediatric hospitalists who are eager to pursue careers in either academic or community hospital medicine. As we expand our clinical services and enhance our academic initiatives, we invite you to be part of our journey. Our Division consists of over 70 faculty members across three locations, each fostering diverse interests in clinical practice, education, quality improvement, and research.
Currently, we are focused on recruiting hospitalists for our Main Campus in Phoenix, as well as our community sites: Phoenix Children's - Arrowhead and Phoenix Children's - East Valley. Available positions include both standard and nocturnist roles, with a shift differential offered for nocturnists.
Our Main Campus is a standalone children's hospital featuring a level 1 trauma center and extensive subspecialty care. There are numerous opportunities for involvement in research, quality improvement, and educational activities. We proudly host an established, ACGME-accredited two-year pediatric hospitalist fellowship program with six fellows and play a vital role in the medical education of a large pediatric residency program. Faculty members also hold academic positions at the University of Arizona, Creighton University, and the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
Phoenix Children's - Arrowhead is set to open in Summer 2024 as a freestanding children's hospital in the Northwest Valley. This facility will include a 32-bed unit, a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and a Pediatric Emergency Department, along with comprehensive subspecialty support and 24/7 in-house coverage by hospitalists and intensive care providers. Teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and hospitalist fellows will also be available.
Phoenix Children's - East Valley, a freestanding Women & Children’s center located in Gilbert, is scheduled to open in 2026. This site will feature a 24-bed unit, a PICU, and a Pediatric Emergency Department, along with comprehensive subspecialty support and 24/7 in-house coverage. Newborn care will be provided in collaboration with Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (no delivery attendance or NICU coverage required). Teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and hospitalist fellows will also be available.
We seek dedicated clinicians, leaders, scholars, and educators to join our vibrant Division of Hospital Medicine. Exceptional career advancement opportunities await. Ideal candidates include experienced hospitalists and fellowship graduates.
We provide a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, vacation time, and continuing medical education (CME) support. All applicants must be board eligible or certified in general pediatrics.
