Academic Position for Gastroenterologists in the Beautiful West Virginia Mountains

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join our Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at a prominent Academic Medical Center nestled in the scenic West Virginia Mountains. This facility, boasting over 1,000 beds and recognized as a Level I trauma center, stands as the foremost academic medical institution in the state. The selected candidate will embark on a fulfilling and varied career that encompasses clinical practice, educational initiatives, and research involvement.

• Become part of a collaborative team consisting of 10 clinical faculty members and 6 Advanced Practice Providers, including General Gastroenterologists, transplant surgeons, GI subspecialists, and Advanced Endoscopists.
• Open to General Gastroenterologists, GI Hospitalists, and specialists in various gastroenterology subspecialties.
• Opportunity to expand outpatient clinics and endoscopic procedures across Charleston.
• Participate in 3 weeks of overnight call coverage annually.
• Access to a dedicated clinical support team.
• Strong collaborative relationships with colorectal surgery, GI pathology, GI radiology, and Pediatric GI.
• Integrated practice model with a robust internal referral network.
• Dedicated clinical research infrastructure for gastroenterology—research participation is encouraged but not mandatory.
• 24/7 reliable hospitalist coverage available on-site.
• Teaching opportunities available, with support for GI fellowship and Internal Medicine residency programs.
• Faculty appointment based on experience, with guaranteed protected time for research.
