The Department of Neurology at our organization is embarking on an exciting journey of growth and innovation in the field of Headache Medicine. Following the recent recruitment of two new headache specialists, we are in search of a forward-thinking and collaborative leader to take on the role of Chief of Headache Medicine and elevate this expanding program.

This is a unique chance to influence the clinical, academic, and research trajectory of a developing Headache Medicine program within a top-tier academic medical center and an integrated health system dedicated to excellence, discovery, and education.

A Leadership Position with Significant Influence

The Chief of Headache Medicine will provide strategic oversight for the section's clinical operations, research projects, and educational objectives. This role presents an opportunity to build on a solid foundation while shaping the future of headache care, scholarship, and training within our organization.

The Chief will lead a multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practice providers, delivering cutting-edge, patient-focused care. The section features a UCNS-accredited Headache Medicine fellowship program, providing the Chief with a valuable platform to train and mentor the next generation of headache specialists while advancing innovative clinical and research initiatives.

This position offers a blend of clinical practice, administrative leadership, and academic involvement, tailored to the successful candidate's experience and interests.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a distinguished physician leader who is passionate about clinical excellence, education, mentorship, and program development. The perfect candidate will have experience in leading or expanding a busy outpatient service and possess a strong understanding of the academic mission encompassing clinical care, teaching, and research.

Required Qualifications:

  • UCNS certification in Headache Medicine

  • Eligibility for medical licensure in New Hampshire and Vermont

  • Proven experience or interest in academic leadership, program development, and faculty mentorship

  • A commitment to inclusive leadership and collaborative care

  • Eligibility for the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the Geisel School of Medicine

  • Board certification in Neurology, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine by the ABPN, ABIM, or AOA
