Job Description
Our organization is looking for a fellowship-trained Complex General Surgical Oncologist to become part of our Queens Cancer Center. This state-of-the-art facility is recognized as a Center of Excellence and stands as the sole established cancer center within the NYC Health+Hospitals System. This role presents a fantastic chance to engage in a mission-driven environment with high acuity cases, supported by a dedicated team.
The successful candidate will collaborate with another HPB/Surgical Oncologist and a diverse team of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, urologic oncologists, and breast surgeons. The individual should be proficient in performing a broad range of surgical procedures aimed at treating various cancers, including but not limited to colorectal, foregut, hepatobiliary, pancreas, sarcoma, cutaneous, and soft tissue malignancies. Exceptional clinical and technical abilities are essential, along with a cooperative approach to patient care.
All faculty members hold academic appointments at a prestigious medical school.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have:
- Completed an ACGME-accredited Complex General Surgical Oncology fellowship.
- Board certification or eligibility in Complex General Surgical Oncology.
- A New York Medical License or the capability to obtain one.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Providing surgical oncology care to patients at the Queens Cancer Center/Queens Hospital Center, encompassing outpatient clinics, ambulatory and inpatient surgeries, as well as inpatient consultations and post-operative care.
- Actively engaging in relevant committees and programs, such as the Cancer Committee and weekly Multidisciplinary Tumor Board Conference, to enhance the quality of surgical oncology services.
- Upholding high standards of care through collaboration with fellow physicians, surgeons, clinical professionals, and support staff.
- Contributing to medical and surgical education by teaching residents and medical students.
- Demonstrating a commitment to a professional and patient-centered care environment that prioritizes clinical excellence.
