Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist
Job Description
Our organization is in search of a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Hematologist to become part of a thriving community-focused pediatric hematology oncology practice located in South Bend, Indiana. The new physician will collaborate with a team consisting of two board-certified pediatric hematologist-oncologists and a nurse practitioner. This dedicated care team is bolstered by a highly skilled nursing and administrative staff.
The program provides care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults facing blood disorders and cancers. Currently, the oncology segment manages around 30-40 patients undergoing active treatment, alongside a substantial off-therapy population. Annually, the practice receives approximately 200 new hematology referrals and oversees the care of around 80 children with sickle cell disease, in addition to many others with chronic benign hematologic conditions. Physicians will operate in an outpatient clinic while also covering inpatient services, supported by a robust pediatric hospitalist team. Call duties are shared equally among the physicians. The program maintains strong collaborative relationships with regional academic centers, frequently partnering with them to enhance patient care. This position offers a chance to engage in clinical program development and deliver care in a medically underserved area. Opportunities for limited involvement in medical student and resident education, as well as clinical research, are also available.
In close collaboration with Riley Children's Health, our pediatric oncology physicians work alongside a large team of specialists to ensure every possible treatment option is accessible.
