A growing company in Poughkeepsie, NY is looking to add an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to their accounting team. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of the organizations vendor and expense records.
Youll be responsible for handling all aspects of the accounts payable process from invoice entry to payment processing and month-end reporting. Were looking for someone who is organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Accounts Payable Specialist Responsibilities:
\tReceive, review, and verify vendor invoices and purchase orders
\tEnter invoices into the accounting system with appropriate GL coding
\tPrepare and process check runs, ACH, and wire payments
\tReconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
\tAssist with monthly closing processes, including AP aging reports and accruals
\tMaintain updated W-9s and support year-end 1099 reporting
What Youll Need:
\t2+ years of hands-on accounts payable experience
\tStrong computer skills, including Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.)
\tKnowledge of basic accounting principles and AP best practices
\tExcellent communication and organizational skills
\tAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
