GENERAL SUMMARY:
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee all avionics wiring projects, including routing, termination, splicing, shielding, and continuity testing for new installations and modifications.
- Install, integrate, and troubleshoot avionics systems such as Garmin flight decks, Gogo inflight Wi‑Fi, satellite communication systems, and cabin entertainment/connectivity equipment.
- Read, interpret, and create wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings to ensure accurate installation and compliance with OEM specifications.
- Perform system functional checks, configuration, and verification after wiring installation to ensure full operational integrity.
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting on electrical and data bus networks, including CAN bus, ARINC 429/429, Ethernet, and RF cabling.
- Inspect completed wiring work for quality, safety, strain relief, proper shielding, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain documentation, logbooks, and installation records with high accuracy.
- Coordinate project schedules, assign tasks, and mentor technicians in best practices for wiring, crimping, soldering, and system testing.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance leadership, and OEM tech support to resolve complex wiring and integration issues.
- Uphold strict adherence to FAA regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
Top candidates will possess:
- High school diploma or GED
- 6+ years related avionics installation experience
- Knowledge and understanding of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145
- Ability to work overtime and various shifts as business needs require
- Willingness to work on a team with both experienced technicians and mentor junior technicians with a calm demeanor
- Ability to communicate well in straightforward situations
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, or procedural manuals
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and a desire to work
Other requirements include:
- Experience working with and repairing the following aircraft systems:
- Autopilots, Flight Management Systems, Navigation and Communication Systems, EFIS, Aircraft Electrical Systems, Lighting, Pitot and Static Systems
- Any bench repair capabilities preferred
- A&P License/FCC License a plus

The base hourly range for this role is $35.00 USD - $50.00 USD. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of experience levels. Specific compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to; minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience and location.
