Job Description
Hourly Rate: $45.00 – $58.00 per hour
Location: Millbrae, California; OnsitePosition SummaryAs a Special Education Teacher, you will provide individualized academic and behavioral instruction to elementary-aged students within a school-based setting in accordance with student IEPs and state educational standards. This role collaborates closely with principals, general education teachers, related service providers, school psychologists, parents, paraprofessionals, and district personnel to support student success within the least restrictive environment. The Special Education Teacher will support student growth through individualized instruction, progress monitoring, and effective classroom management practices. ResponsibilitiesSchedule / Shift- Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday–Friday
- Hours per week: Full time
- Contract length: School year assignment
- Provide direct instruction aligned with student IEPs and state educational standards
- Conduct academic evaluations and develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and school staff to support student success
- Maintain accurate documentation and records regarding student progress and services provided
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, goals, and educational programming
- Create and maintain an engaging and supportive classroom learning environment
- Provide guidance and oversight to instructional assistants and support staff
- Participate in trainings, department meetings, IEP meetings, and additional duties as assigned
- Support behavioral interventions, accommodations, and instructional strategies for diverse student needs
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Special Education
- Required: State Special Education Teacher Certification with appropriate endorsement
- Required: Cross-Categorical Special Education Certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience within a school-based environment
- Strong understanding of disabilities, educational interventions, and special education best practices
- Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs and behavioral support strategies
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
