Accounts Payable Specialist

Blue Ridge Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional to join our Financial Accounting team as an Accounts Payable Specialist.

This position plays an important role in supporting the organization's financial operations by ensuring accurate processing of accounts payable transactions, maintaining timely and compliant financial records, and delivering responsive support to internal departments and external partners. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong analytical and organizational skills, and contribute positively to a team-focused culture.

What You'll Do

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will:

• Process accounts payable invoices accurately and efficiently, including preparation and execution of payments to vendors
• Ensure invoices, refunds, and disbursements are properly approved, recorded, and posted in accordance with company policies
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries related to accounts payable processes
• Prepare and review cash reports
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed
• Prepare annual accounts payable filings, including 1099 reporting
• Support internal and external audit activities through documentation preparation and reporting assistance
• Provide backup support for other accounting team functions during coverage periods

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field required Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered
• Accounting experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
