The Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the accounts payable function by ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounts payable processes. The AP Analyst will work closely with the AP Manager and cross-functional teams to support the company’s financial operations and maintain strong vendor relationships.
The AP Analyst will report to the AP Manager in Cranberry Township, PA. This is a hybrid position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with vendor account maintenance.
- Assist in the reconciliation of vendor statements using Excel, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of efficient accounts payable processes and controls.
- Create reporting for accruals and related analysis to support the posting of journal entries.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to facilitate timely payments to vendors.
- Process the payment runs for all payment methods.
- Process invoices for electronic filing
- Assist with 1099 reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies, as well as adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounts payable function.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in accounts payable management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, including Excel and familiarity with AP software systems.
- Familiarity with large-scale ERP systems such as SAP
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong self-starter
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Experience in the manufacturing or consumer goods industry is a plus.
