Key Responsibilities

• Site Assessment: Monitor and test hazard levels (e.g., toxic gases, radiation) using specialized detection devices.
• Hazard Cleanup: Excavate, handle, and contain hazardous substances, including contaminated soil, drums, and chemical spills.
• Safety & PPE: Follow strict protocols for donning, doffing, and decontaminating Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Emergency Response: Act as a first responder or technician during accidental chemical releases or disaster recovery operations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to strict OSHA and EPA guidelines for the safe treatment, storage, and disposal of waste.

Work Environment

• Industries: Common in environmental remediation, waste management, construction, oil and gas, and emergency services.
• Conditions: Often involves working outdoors in varying climates, wearing protective suits, and may require significant physical labor or travel to various job sites.
